Netanyahu Recovering from Food Poisoning, to Work from Home for Three Days

Jerusalem, July 21, 2025 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is recuperating from a case of food poisoning, his office announced on Sunday. The 75-year-old leader is expected to rest at home for the next three days while continuing to carry out his official duties remotely.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, Netanyahu fell ill overnight and was diagnosed with intestinal inflammation and dehydration. He is currently receiving intravenous fluids as part of his treatment.

« In accordance with his doctors’ instructions, the prime minister will rest at home for the next three days and will manage state affairs from there, » the statement read.

Netanyahu’s health has been closely monitored in recent years. In 2023, he was fitted with a pacemaker, and in December of that year, he underwent prostate surgery following complications from a urinary tract infection.

Despite his health challenges, Netanyahu has remained active in leading the government, and officials say he will continue to oversee national affairs during his recovery period.

No further details about the cause of the food poisoning were provided.
